I was watching R enter the class today and was thinking how much has changed in just a few months with him being in our class. At the beginning of the year, R's parents would come and bring him inside the school and drop him off in front of Casa 1. Every day, R would stall the dropping off process with exaggerated hugs, kisses and conversation. Today he came in with bright smile. His goodbye to his dad was quick but meaningful and he entered the room with confidence. I watched him follow the morning routines independently and then to immediately choose a piece of work. The best part was when I turned around, I saw dad standing there and watching R with a very happy face; I think he was making the same realization as I was!
