After months of waiting, the building addition was completed. All the staff and students were eager to move in and use the new rooms. The next step is the pool. This will also require some time before it gets built because of new building codes and compliance with AODA requirements. We are crossing our fingers that the drawings will be approved and ready to build in 2015. In the meantime, we are grateful for the addition, it was well worth the wait.

Northstar was asked by CCMA to host a presentation by Dr. Stephen Hughes on our PD day. From previous discussions, we were expecting about 300 administrators and teachers from around the GTA and beyond to make their way to Northstar. As it turned out, we ended up hosting close to 500! It was by far the largest turnout we have ever seen and we are so proud of our staff for making the day successful.

The TMI teacher training program has commenced at Northstar. We are pleased to host their new Montessori training facility at our school. It is definitely a step in the right direction that we have been chosen to accommodate this new venture in the west side of the GTA.
July, 2015
Part of Northstar's plans were to include a kitchen where we could have an in-house chef/cook to prepare meals for our students. In order to facilitate this, a separate permit would be required. After waiting for almost 2 months, we are pleased to announce that the permit has been issued. We are hoping to make the necessary updates this summer, in time for the next school year. We are doubly-pleased to announce that MyMunchBox will be Northstar's new school caterer.
